The first Shayona project was built in 1989. The first Shayona school opened in 1991. Everything the group has become since follows from that decision.
A construction company that builds schools is unremarkable. One that has run them since 1991 is making a different kind of commitment.
A child can enter one of these at nursery and leave the last of them with a postgraduate degree, without ever leaving the group. That was not the plan in 1991. It is what adding one more, and then one more, produced.

Kenalily School for Children
Kenalily School for Children is named as the group itself is — for Keshavjivan Das, Mahant Swami Maharaj, the present spiritual leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, and Narayanswaroop Das, his predecessor. The school was named the way the group was, a generation later. The naming was the point: the school was meant to last.
