One family, still building
A construction group in Ahmedabad that kept starting things, and none of them was bought ready-made.
The family began building at Meghaninagar in 1989, after seven years trading in construction materials. Everything the group has become since follows from that decision — homes, shops, industry and public works first, and then a school, a newspaper, a survey company, a bottling line, an auction house and a shooting range.
The seven names on the 1997 constitution are the seven it carries into 2026. In an industry where firms are assembled around a single project and dissolved when it completes, that is not an administrative detail: it is the reason a buyer signing today is dealing with the people who began in 1989.
What the group holds to is easier to state than to keep. A family buying a home and a department awarding a contract are handing over years of their lives, and the right answer to that is the same in both cases — the best the company is capable of building, every time.

There are no quantities in this drawing and no curve: the group holds no year-by-year figures, and a rising line would be something I had invented rather than something it can show. What it draws is breadth — one business becoming seven divisions and ten businesses — and every year in it is one the group has given. The axis is spaced by event and not to scale: the years run in order and a longer gap is still drawn wider than a shorter one, but the quiet stretch between 2000 and 2012 is compressed to keep the drawing readable, and it is marked with a break where that happens.

What the group is for
To be trusted in every business we enter, and to keep entering new ones. To give a family buying a home and a department awarding a contract the same standard of work, because both of them are handing us years of their lives. To remain one family however large the company grows, and to let each new field teach the people in it something the last one could not. And to hand the generation after us both the values we began with and the instinct to keep beginning.
